Froggin’ and Doggin’March 9, 2008 by useitforthedogs
My first pair of socks! http://www.webdesignsbybarb.com/tostetoes/twosocksoneneedletoeup.htm I never want to spend too much when I’m trying something for the first time…but why buy junk, huh? So I’m going to have to look around at more advice on wrapped stitches, I know I’ve seen it out there.
The Zeebee was a great first short-row project. I worked it up to learn wrapped short rows to get background on sock construction. http://www.schmeebot.com/nid/283.htm And it was so popular with the boys I had to make 3! Now they want some in summer-weight cotton!
I felt like a project just for fun. ”The aussie needs another sweater” I thought. So into my stash for the silliest stuff I could find. A couple days later we tried i on her. Okay, the dog sweater loooks silly http://www.flickr.com/photos/24277373@N06/2305612720/but that was kinda the idea anyway. Beej is asking for a regular looking sweater for Akelei, something he won’t be embarrased to drive her around in, ok, I’ll keep an eye out for the yarn color he wants.
Back to my socks, they progressed inch by inch, some at work, some in the evenings. I Read the next step of the sock directions while I was in front of the tv and it was getting late…1″ later I realized I had interpreted them wrong! ACK! Froggin’ for an inch I guess. I better get on with it or It’ll be another week before I can try the koolaid dye on ‘em. (I’m using Knitpicks’ Bare)
